Speaker Bios: 

Claire Greer, PhD, an Assistant Professor at the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies within the Department of Health Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, brings her experience in mathematics and literacy to her work. Her background includes diverse roles, from serving as a Consultant for Autism, Severe Intellectual Disabilities, and Multiple Disabilities to directing the North Carolina Deaf-Blind Project. In these capacities, she has championed educational access for students with complex learning needs and facilitated their engagement with the general education standards and curriculum.

Allison Dennis, PhD, serves as the Research and Implementation Strategist at Building Wings, where she leads initiatives focused on evidence-based literacy instruction and effective implementation practices. With a strong background in special education, Allison previously taught high school students with moderate to significant physical and intellectual disabilities. She also served as a Research Assistant at the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, contributing to research and innovation in literacy and accessible learning. Allison earned both her master’s degree and Ph.D. in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
